Project Project Title : ผลของอุณหภูมิสภาพแวดล้อมต่อกลไกการควบคุมวงจรการสืบพันธุ์โดยระบบประสาทและระบบต่อมไร้ท่อในไก่พื้นเมืองไทยเพศเมีย (Effects of ambient temperature upon the neuroendocrine regulation and the mechanism (s) mediating the reproductive cycle of the female native Thai chicken)     downloaded 26 times Researcher Name : ยุพาพร ไชยสีหา (Yupaporn Chaiseha) Abstract : สัญญาณจากสิ่งแวดล้อม เช่น ช่วงแสง และอุณหภูมิ มีผลต่อการพัฒนาของระบบสืบพันธุ์ในสัตว์ปีกเพื่อให้ลูกที่เกิดขึ้นมาได้อยู่ในสภาพแวดล้อมที่เหมาะสม การศึกษาในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างอุณหภูมิสภาพแวดล้อมและระบบสืบพันธุ์ของไก่พื้นเมืองไทยเพศเมีย โดยศึกษาบทบาทของฮอร์โมนโปรแลคติน (prolactin; PRL) ในการควบคุมวงจรการสืบพันธุ์ในไก่พื้นเมืองไทยเพศเมียภายใต้อุณหภูมิสภาพแวดล้อมที่แตกต่างกัน โดยไก่พื้นเมืองไทยเพศเมีย พันธุ์ประดู่ หางดำ จำนวน 40 ตัว จะถูกแบ่งออกเป็น 4 กลุ่มการทดลอง คือ กลุ่มที่ 1, 2 และ 3 เลี้ยงในโรงเรือนปิดที่ควบคุมอุณหภูมิภายในโรงเรือนให้อยู่ที่ 35 ± 2°C, 31 ± 2°C และ 27 ± 2°C ตามลำดับ ส่วนกลุ่มที่ 4 เป็นกลุ่มควบคุม ซึ่งเลี้ยงในโรงเรือนเปิดภายใต้อุณหภูมิสภาพแวดล้อมตามธรรมชาติ เก็บตัวอย่างเลือดจากไก่ทุกกลุ่มการทดลองสัปดาห์ละ 1 ครั้ง เป็นเวลา 12 สัปดาห์ เลือดที่ได้จะถูกนำไปปั่นเหวี่ยงเพื่อเก็บพลาสมา และวิเคราะห์หาระดับฮอร์โมน PRL ด้วยวิธี enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) บันทึกพฤติกรรม ปริมาณผลผลิตไข่และน้ำหนักตัวไก่ตลอดช่วงการทดลอง ผลการทดลองพบว่าระดับฮอร์โมน PRL ในพลาสมาไก่พื้นเมืองไทยที่เลี้ยงภายใต้อุณหภูมิที่แตกต่างกัน มีระดับไม่แตกต่างกัน จำนวนผลผลิตไข่รวมของไก่ที่เลี้ยงไว้ในโรงเรือนปิดภายใต้อุณหภูมิ 31°C มีปริมาณมากกว่ากลุ่มที่เลี้ยงไว้ในโรงเรือนปิดภายใต้อุณหภูมิ 27°C กลุ่มที่เลี้ยงไว้ในโรงเรือนเปิด และกลุ่มที่เลี้ยงไว้ในโรงเรือนปิดภายใต้อุณหภูมิ 35°C ตามลำดับ เปอร์เซ็นต์ผลผลิตไข่สะสมในกลุ่มที่เลี้ยงภายใต้อุณหภูมิ 27°C มีแนวโน้มเพิ่มมากขึ้น ส่วนน้ำหนักตัวของไก่พื้นเมืองไทยที่เลี้ยงภายใต้อุณหภูมิที่แตกต่างกัน ไม่แตกต่างกันในทุกกลุ่มการทดลอง ผลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่า การเพิ่มขึ้นของอุณหภูมิสิ่งแวดล้อมไม่ส่งผลโดยตรงต่อระดับฮอร์โมน PRL ในพลาสมา น้ำหนักตัวของไก่ และปริมาณการผลิตไข่ของไก่พื้นเมืองไทยซึ่งเป็นสัตว์ปีกที่อาศัยอยู่ในเขตร้อนชื้น และการเลี้ยงไก่ในภาวะอุณหภูมิที่เหมาะสมอาจทำให้ไก่ให้ผลผลิตไข่ที่มากขึ้น Abstract In birds, environmental cues such as photoperiod and temperature initiate reproductive development prior to the onset of optimal condition for raising offspring. This study was aimed to study the relationship between the ambient temperature and the reproductive system of the native Thai chickens. The roles of prolactin (PRL) in the regulation of the reproductive cycle under different temperature were investigated. Forty female native Thai chickens, Pradoohangdum breed, were subjected into 4 treatment groups. Groups 1, 2, and 3, chickens were reared in close house under temperature 35 ± 2°C, 31 ± 2°C, and 27 ± 2°C, respectively. Group 4, chickens were reared in open house under natural temperature. Blood samples were collected from each chicken once a week for 12 weeks and fractionated by centrifugation. Plasma PRL levels were determined utilizing an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Behaviors, egg production, and body weight were recorded throughout the experiment. The results revealed that plasma PRL levels were not significantly affected by any of the treatments. Cumulative egg production was higher in chickens that exposed temperature of 31°C compared with those in 27°C, natural temperature, and 35°C, respectively. Cumulative hen-day egg production tended to increase in chickens that reared in close house at an ambient temperature of 27°C. No significant differences in body weight were observed. This study indicates that high ambient temperature do not affect plasma PRL level, body weight, and egg production of the native Thai chicken, a tropical avian species.
