Researcher’s Ethics


SUT has specified lecturer’s ethics as a direction for lecturers to behave appropriately towards their colleagues, students, the university and society in order to promote and maintain professional standards, the prestige and reputation of the university.  The stated lecturer’s ethics cover research implementation as well, so that a lecturer must be responsible for research activity, co-researchers and the dissemination of research results in a way that is of advantage to academic circles, the university and society.  In practice, the university has specified that lecturers must hold to, and behave consistently with, the researcher’s ethics specified by the Office of the National Research Council of Thailand as follows:

  1. A researcher must be honest and have virtue both in terms of academic matters and management.
  2. A researcher must realize the research obligations as stated in an agreement with the supporting organization and his/her own organization.
  3. A researcher must have basic knowledge in his/her field of research.
  4. A researcher must be responsible for research objects, whether they are living things or non-living things.
  5. A researcher must respect prestige and right of human samples.
  6. A researcher must be freethinking without any bias throughout the research procedure.
  7. A researcher must use research results in an appropriate way.
  8. A researcher must respect others’ academic opinions.
  9. A researcher must be responsible to all society at every level.
